Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Queen Anne in high relief, her hair elaborately dressed and flowing loosely at the back. The encircling Latin legend is separated from the inner field by a raised border, with the engraver's initials I.C. visible in the lower exergue.

Reverse description Britannia, helmeted and armed with spear and shield, strides forward to protect the crouching figure of Scotia at her feet, who bears a lion-emblazoned shield. In the background, the French fleet is shown in flight across the Firth of Forth, while an engagement between vessels is depicted in the foreground at left near the coastline with a fortified town. The three-line Latin inscription appears in the lower exergue, with the abbreviated legend arching across the upper field.
