Obverse description A cross in relief divides the field into four quadrants, each bearing a portrait medallion in profile of Alexander I (upper left), Nicholas I (upper right), Alexander II (lower right), and Alexander III (lower left). At the center of the cross, the All-Seeing Eye within a radiant triangle, with the dates 1812 and 1883 inscribed around the cross arms. The Cyrillic legend around the border records the laying and consecration dates, with the inscription ЗА ВѢРУ И ЦАРЯ (For Faith and Tsar) in the left and right quadrants.
