Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Alexander II in right-facing profile, set within a circular legend naming him as Emperor and Autocrat, signed by the engraver Chukmasov below the truncation. The upper arc bears the legend ПРЕОБРАЗОВАТЕЛЬ on a ribbon, while radiating inscriptions in the field list his major reforms. A crown, sceptre, and orb on a cushion appear at the base, flanked by banners, with the inscription НАРОДНАЯ МЕДАЛЬ (People's Medal) along the lower rim.
