Obverse description Right-facing bust of Albrecht Dürer in high relief, depicted with long wavy hair and a beard, wearing a fur-trimmed garment. The legend 'ALBRECHT DÜRER' arcs across the upper field, flanked left and right of the portrait, with the dates '1528' and '1928' in the lower left field. Dürer's well-known monogram 'AD' appears at the bottom center, and the engraver's signature 'L. Christlauer Nürnberg' is inscribed along the truncation.
