| Obverse description | Central field features the numeral '100' flanked by two locomotives in relief — a vintage steam locomotive to the left and a modern diesel locomotive to the right — symbolising a century of railway progress. The Republic of China national flag appears in the upper portion of the field. Chinese legends are arranged vertically on both sides, with the dates '1881–1981' in the lower central field and the English legend 'A CENTENNIAL OF RAILWAYS R.O.C.' encircling the lower rim. |
