Obverse description Central relief depicts the Monument to the Soviet Soldier-Liberator as erected in Berlin's Treptower Park, shown standing in full figure atop rubble, sword lowered and a child cradled in one arm. The monument is flanked by two crossed laurel branches in the lower field, with the commemorative dates '1945' and '1965' inscribed to the left and right of the figure respectively.
