Obverse description The obverse is divided into two halves: the right half depicts the relief figure of the Alyosha monument (a Soviet soldier standing on a pedestal) framed by an olive branch, set against a dark field; the left half features a coloured design with the gilt numeral '65' above a depiction of the Soviet 'For Bravery' medal inscribed 'ЗА ОТВАГУ / СССР', set against a blue and white background with stylised fireworks bursts. The Cyrillic legend '65 ЛЕТ ПОБЕДЫ' runs vertically in the centre field, and the legend 'В ВЕЛИКОЙ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННОЙ ВОЙНЕ' runs along the outer border.

Reverse description The reverse features a relief depiction of the Motherland Calls statue from Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, shown raising a sword aloft, surrounded by stylised fireworks star-bursts and framed by two olive branches. The dates '1941–1945' appear in the lower exergue, and five small stars flank the wreath at the base. The legend 'С ПРАЗДНИКОМ ВЕЛИКОЙ ПОБЕДЫ' runs along the upper border, with the СПМД mint mark visible in the lower right field.
