| Reverse description | The central field features a relief depiction of a flat inscribed stone (the historic Kapstein at the Cape of Good Hope), bearing a Dutch-language text recording the arrival and departure of VOC ships on 9 and 15 April 1632. A curved legend along the upper rim reads AUS DER GESCHICHTE VON POST UND VERKEHR / KV PHILATELIE SAALFELD, and a three-line inscription below the stone reads KAPSTEIN – BRIEFABLAGE DER INDIENFAHRER. A circular mint mark and the date 1988 appear in the lower exergue. |
