| Obverse description | A standing winged allegorical female figure in high relief holds a palm frond in her left hand and rests her right hand upon an arched stone tablet bearing the dedicatory inscription. The background features the crenellated towers of Antwerp's city walls, flanked by the two open hands from the city's coat of arms. The dates 1577 and 1877 appear vertically in the left and right fields respectively, and the engraver's signature ED. GEERTS. SCULP. F. is incised along the lower exergue. |
