Dominating the composition on the right, a winged allegorical figure of the Génie de la Liberté — after Auguste Dumont's sculpture atop the July Column — stands triumphant, raising a flag aloft and holding a broken chain. The engraver's signature N. SALAGNAC appears in the lower right field, with an individually engraved serial number in the upper right field.
