Reverse description A large three-masted sailing ship under full sail navigates stormy seas in the central field, serving as an allegory of the city of Hildesheim guided by Christ. The date 'D.1.SEP' appears to the left and '1542' to the right flanking the ship in the field. In the lower exergue, a three-line legend records the bicentennial jubilee celebration of the city of Hildesheim on 1 September 1742.
