Obverse description Against a mirror-polished silver-plated field, a large relief bust of Kaiser Wilhelm II in military uniform is depicted in the upper centre, framed by ornate scrollwork. Two gilt inserts reproducing the obverse and reverse of the Prussian 20 Mark gold coin of 1914 (KM# 537) are displayed side by side in the lower field, showing the uniformed effigy of Wilhelm II with the legend WILHELM II DEUTSCHER KAISER KÖNIG VON PREUSSEN on the left, and the Imperial German eagle with the legend DEUTSCHES REICH 1914 20 MARK on the right. A cartouche at the bottom bears the inscription 20 Mark Preußen - Wilhelm II, with the date 1914 prominently placed between the two coin reproductions.
