| Obverse description | The gold-plated central field depicts the Quadriga of the Brandenburg Gate, showing a winged charioteer driving a four-horse chariot in relief. The central device is surrounded by a ring of twelve stars, with the legends DEUTSCHLAND and EINIGKEIT · RECHT · FREIHEIT arranged around the inner border. The outer silver-toned rim bears the legend 10 JAHRE ABSCHIED VON DER DEUTSCHEN MARK, and at the bottom a color-enameled depiction of three German national flags. |
