The coat of arms of the city of Karlovac - the historical coat of arms of the Free Royal City of Karlovac. Oval shield divided into three fields. On the upper left - the historical seal of the kingdom of Croatia. On the upper right - two crossed anchors, symbols of the harbor. On the lower half -landscape showing the fortified city of Karlovac on a hill between two conjoining rivers Kupa and Korana, in the chief are the sun and the crescent. In the middle of this large shield one can find a small crest with initials of Joseph II. Over the whole crest stands a folk crown. Two mermaids on the left and right hold up the mantle of the crest from both sides.
