Obverse description
Standing facing is a soldier in armour leaning on a shield with Cross of St. George. In right hand a sword is held aloft, facing downwards. Rays are emanating from behind his helmet. Behind is a large cross with sun rays emanating in all directions. He is standing on a globe and behind him are laurel and oak branches. To either side of the soldier, and below are the emblems of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force). Lettering in lower field.
