Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus to right, the muscled cuirass decorated with a gorgoneion at the chest and scale-patterned pteryges visible at the shoulder. The portrait features a full curly beard and the emperor's characteristic physiognomy, rendered in high relief within a beaded border. The Greek legend runs along the upper rim of the field.

Reverse description Mên, wearing Phrygian cap and crescent on his shoulder, stands left facing Kybele, holding a scepter in his left hand; Kybele is seated right on a throne, holding a patera in her extended right hand and resting her left arm on a tympanon, with a lion crouching between the two deities at their feet. The scene is rendered in high relief with the Greek legend distributed around the border and in the lower exergual area.
