| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus to right, the muscled cuirass decorated with a gorgoneion at the chest and scale-patterned pteryges visible at the shoulder. The portrait features a full curly beard and the emperor's characteristic physiognomy, rendered in high relief within a beaded border. The Greek legend runs along the upper rim of the field. |
