Obverse description A standing female figure draped in classical attire holds a laurel wreath in each hand, personifying Industry or Commerce. Surrounding her in the field are allegorical attributes of industry and commerce, including a caduceus, a spinning wheel, a plinth surmounted by a wreath and decorated with an owl, and a set square with other tools. The Roman numeral date MDCCCІ appears in the exergue.
