Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in archaic Maghribi script, occupying the majority of the flan. The legend references the ruling Sultan Isma'il ibn Sharif of the Alaoui dynasty. The hammered flan is irregular in shape, with a flat, grainy surface showing characteristic porosity of cast preparation. The coin exhibits two post-mint piercing holes, one near the upper rim and one centrally placed, suggesting secondary use as an ornament or talisman.
