Reverse description Dynamic battle scene in high relief depicting warships engaged in close naval combat, with billowing smoke clouds and churning seas. One vessel is shown listing and apparently sinking at right, while a larger warship advances at left. The circular legend around the border reads SEESCHLACHT BEI SANTA MARIA AM I. NOVEMBER 1914, with the date appearing inverted at the bottom in medal alignment.
