Reverse description Reverse field bearing Arabic calligraphic inscription in two registers separated by a horizontal line, likely containing the mint name (Dimashq) and regnal or religious formula. The lettering is boldly struck but partially worn and obscured by heavy green cuprite patination. The flan is irregular and slightly off-center, typical of hammered Ottoman provincial copper coinage of the sixteenth century.
