Obverse description Right-facing bust of Valentinian II, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in the late Roman imperial portrait tradition. The emperor's effigy displays carefully delineated hair gathered beneath a prominent pearl diadem, with individual pearls visible along the band. The cuirass is depicted with fine engraved detail at the shoulder, and a paludamentum (military cloak) is fastened at the right shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG, distributed across the obverse field.
