Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Magnentius facing right, rendered in late Roman imperial style with pronounced facial features. The emperor's neck and shoulders are covered by a paludamentum and scale-decorated cuirass, conveying military authority. The letter A appears in the field behind the head, serving as an officina or control mark. The obverse legend encircles the bust, reading D N MAGNENTIVS P F AVG. The portrait exhibits the bold, somewhat schematic treatment characteristic of mid-fourth-century provincial mint production.
