Reverse description Central field bears a long cross pattée with incuse or indented arms, with one or two of the cross terminals adorned with a small crosslet, characteristic of this third type of Savoyard maille. The cross divides the field into four quarters. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design along the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan. The overall design is characteristic of the small hammered billon coinage of the Duchy of Savoy in the early sixteenth century, with the mint mark of the Cornavin (Geneva) mint appearing in the legend.
