Reverse description Two lines of crudely rendered Arabic script occupy the central field of the irregular copper flan, reading 'Darb / Harar', indicating the place of minting. The lettering is bold but roughly formed, characteristic of the unsophisticated hammered technique employed at the Harar mint. No border, decorative motif, or additional device is present. The planchet is notably irregular in outline and uneven in thickness, reflecting the rudimentary production methods of the emirate.
