Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Louis XIV with long flowing curly hair, laureate in the classical manner. The circular legend reads LUDOVICUS MAGNUS REX, and the engraver's signature H.R.F. appears in small letters in the lower exergue.

Reverse description Quartered crowned shield bearing in quarters 1 and 4 the fleurs-de-lis of France, and in quarters 2 and 3 the ermine field of Brittany, the whole set upon a mantle strewn with fleurs-de-lis and ermines. The date 1703 appears in the exergue, and the circular legend references the États de Bretagne.
