Obverse description Centrally positioned shield bearing the arms of Savoy — a plain cross on a divided field — set within a beaded inner circle. The peripheral legend in uncial Latin reads AMEDЕВS DVX, distributed around the coin's circumference. The hammered flan produces a characteristically irregular outline typical of late medieval Savoyard petite monnaie.
