| Obverse description | Stylised royal lion depicted in profile facing left, rendered in a bold and vigorous artistic convention characteristic of medieval Indian coinage. The lion is shown in a roaring posture with exaggerated mane and limbs, conveying regal ferocity. Celestial symbols comprising the Sun and Moon appear in the field flanking the lion. An additional symbol denoting the Samvatsara (cyclical year) Nandana, corresponding to 1172/1173 CE, is present in the field, providing a rare chronological anchor within the reign of Shivachitta Tribhuvanamalla. |
