| Obverse description | Red and yellow-green bicolour note with elaborate guilloche underprint across the centre field, upon which the Portuguese royal arms appear at upper centre beneath the issuer's title in a cartouche. The fractional denomination 1/2 is repeated in ornate script at each corner and in a large intaglio medallion to the right. The date and place of issue (Beira, 1 de Setembro de 1931) appear in the lower left, flanked by two manuscript signatures above a framed OURO panel at foot. |
