Obverse description The central field features an allegorical standing female figure of Liberty holding a spear or standard, with a banner inscribed with the medal's title, and a kneeling suppliant figure at her feet. Surrounding her in high relief are nine portrait busts of Romanian political figures, each identified by name in the field, arranged in a circle. At the top appears a larger bearded male portrait bust, and the date 10 MAI 1905 is inscribed in the upper field.

Reverse description The reverse displays a large bearded bust in uniform of King Carol I of Romania facing right, surmounted by a royal crown in the upper field, with two equestrian figures in low relief to either side. Below the main bust appears a second uniformed portrait bust in profile, identified as Crown Prince Ferdinand, flanked by two small cherubic children's heads amid floral decoration. A ribbon or scroll with partially legible lettering runs across the central field.
