Reverse description Central device consists of a cross fleurée (croix florencée), with each arm terminating in stylized floral or lily-form finials, occupying the full field of the flan. The peripheral Latin legend reads: ☩ ANT CAR BARB LE AVE, identifying Anthony Barberini as Cardinal Legate of Avignon. The flan is irregularly shaped and the relief shallow, consistent with hammered billon production of early 17th-century France.
