Obverse description Central field dominated by a large Gothic capital letter H, surmounted by a princely crown with visible beading along its arch. The monogram and crown are rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered billon coinage of the period. A circular legend surrounds the central device, reading the ruler's title in abbreviated Latin. The overall design is bold and emblematic, consistent with the feudal coinage tradition of the Principality of Orange under Frederic Henry of Nassau.
