Reverse description Plain cross pattee dividing the field into four quarters, with a fleur-de-lis in the upper left and lower right quarters, and a crown in the upper right and lower left quarters, all within a beaded inner circle. The design reflects the standard heraldic vocabulary of the Valois monarchy. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin reads SIT NOMEN DNI BENED, an abbreviated devotional inscription. The overall strike is somewhat weak and uneven, typical of hammered billon issues of the period.
