Obverse description Central field displays a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of Ferdinand of Bavaria, combining the lozengy (chequy) field of Bavaria with ecclesiastical and territorial charges, including a cross. The shield is rendered in a crude but bold hammered style typical of minor ecclesiastical coinage. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the shield, reading along the coin's rim.
