| Obverse description | Hammered silver larin of characteristic hairpin form, comprising a thin silver wire rod bent double and flattened at one end to receive the die impression. The broader flattened face bears the ruler's name and titles in Arabic script, struck in relief across the face of the flattened portion. The legends are disposed horizontally across the striking surface, with the Arabic inscription reading 'Ali Adil Shah' in bold naskh characters. The coin's distinctive elongated shape tapers to a blunt point at the closed end of the hairpin. |

| Reverse description | The reverse face of the flattened hairpin portion bears the mint name in Arabic script struck in relief, identifying the Dabul mint. The inscription 'Zarb Dabul' (struck at Dabul) is rendered in naskh-style Arabic lettering disposed across the available striking surface. The legends are bold but show typical characteristics of hammered larin coinage, with some irregularity in strike due to the unconventional flan form. The reverse tapers into the elongated wire shank of the hairpin at one extremity. |
