Obverse description Two heraldic shields displayed side by side beneath an elaborate Gothic architectural canopy with crocketed pinnacles and floral finials. The dexter shield bears the quarterly arms of Burgundy and Flanders (ancient France quartered with the bend of Burgundy, Brabant, and Flanders), while the sinister shield displays the quartered arms of Brabant-Limburg. The canopy rises from a shared base, rendered in fine Gothic relief characteristic of late 14th-century Flemish die-cutting. The circular legend in uncial lettering runs within a beaded border.
