Obverse description The Gallic rooster in high relief stands prominently in the center of the field, after the design by Chaplain, with small hallmarks and mintmarks visible at its feet along the base line. A decorative olive branch motif appears in the lower exergue. The circumferential legend curves around the upper portion of the coin.

Reverse description The reverse features six circular medallions arranged around a central roundel, each depicting an emblematic allegorical figure from historic French franc coinage, including various busts of Marianne, the Sower by Roty, Hercules, and an angel figure.
