| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the elaborate calligraphic tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Selim III, rendered in the traditional Ottoman style with interlocking loops, vertical shafts, and sweeping horizontal extensions. The tughra fills the majority of the flan against a plain, unadorned field. The coin shows characteristic billon fabric with a broad, slightly irregular flan edge. A piercing hole is visible at the top of the coin, suggesting later use as a pendant or adornment. |
