| Obverse description | Central field displays the Austrian shield — a fess — superimposed upon a cross patée, the arms of which extend toward the coin's irregular periphery. The shield is surmounted by a small crown. The surrounding Latin legend reads +DVX FRIDRICVS, identifying the issuer as Duke Friedrich. The strike is characteristic of early fifteenth-century hammered coinage, with an uneven flan and low relief. |
