Reverse description A double cross occupies the central field, its arms charged with the Austrian pale, a white fess on red, rendered as the heraldic shield of the Austrian flag. The circumferential legend MON*NOV*AVS*83*, denoting 'Moneta Nova Austriae' with the date 1483 expressed in abbreviated form, runs between two beaded circles and is interrupted at one point by the arm of the cross, a common compositional feature of the period.
