Reverse description A prominent long cross divides the field into four sections, with the arms of the cross extending outward to meet the inner border of the surrounding legend. The quadrants formed by the cross each contain a curved segment of a beaded inner circle, creating a decorative star- or wheel-like effect. The Latin legend SI · DE / P · NO / Q · CO / NOS, an abbreviation of the devotional phrase 'Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos' (Romans 8:31), is distributed across the four quadrants of the reverse. The beaded outer border frames the entire design on this hammered billon piece.
