Obverse description A mounted equestrian figure representing the Tsar, depicted in profile galloping to the right and brandishing a spear in the traditional wire kopeck (cheshujka) style. The rider is rendered in the characteristic crude but vigorous hammered technique typical of late Muscovite coinage. The Cyrillic mintmark letters appear beneath the horse's hooves in the lower field.
