Obverse description Obverse of this wire money (cheshuyка) depicts an equestrian figure of the Tsar in profile, shown mounted and armed with a lance or spear directed diagonally across the flan, characteristic of the traditional Russian kopeck type. The rider wears a crown and is seated upon a rearing horse, with the design executed in the bold, schematic relief typical of late 17th-century Russian hammered coinage. The irregular planchet, formed from a cut section of silver wire, results in partial rendering of the design, with only portions of the horseman and mount fully visible. A Cyrillic mint mark abbreviation appears in the field, partially legible as 'о М', indicating the Moscow Mint. The overall style reflects the archaic die-engraving tradition maintained throughout the reigns of Ivan V and Peter I.
