Obverse description On this irregularly shaped wire money (cheshuyка), the obverse displays a stylized equestrian figure of the Tsar in right-facing profile, seated upon a horse in a striding pose. The rider is depicted in a traditional schematic manner characteristic of Muscovite hammered coinage, holding what appears to be a lance or sceptre. The design is rendered in low relief within the roughly oval flan, with the mint mark 'оМ' (Moscow Mint) visible in the lower field. The crude but distinctive style is consistent with wire kopecks of the joint reign period of Ivan V and Peter I.
