Obverse description Equestrian effigy of the Tsar in profile facing right, depicted as an armored warrior on horseback brandishing a spear or lance diagonally across the field, in the traditional Russian wire money style. The horse is shown in a prancing pose with legs raised, rendered in bold relief characteristic of late 17th-century Muscovite hammered coinage. Below the horse, the Cyrillic mintmark 'оМ' denoting the Moscow Mint is visible in the lower field. The irregular flan, typical of wire kopecks, results in partial rendering of the design at the edges. The overall composition follows the long-established iconographic tradition of the mounted Tsar that originated with Ivan the Terrible's coinage reforms.
