| Obverse description | Obverse depicts a mounted tsar in profile, shown as an armored horseman riding to the right and striking downward with a spear or lance — the traditional equestrian motif inherited from earlier Muscovite wire money. The rider is rendered in the schematic, stylized manner characteristic of late 17th-century Russian hammered coinage.
