| Obverse description | A mounted horseman, representing the Tsar, depicted in full gallop to the right, brandishing a downward-pointing spear in his raised hand — the traditional image of St. George and the sovereign combined in Russian wire money iconography. The horse is shown with legs extended in full stride, rendered in a stylized, compact manner characteristic of the hammered wire kopeck tradition. Beneath the hooves of the horse appears the date in Cyrillic numerals in the Old Church Slavonic system.
