Obverse description Tsar on horseback depicted in right-facing profile, the rider shown raising a lance or spear diagonally across the field in the traditional equestrian warrior motif inherited from earlier Muscovite coinage. The figure is rendered in a bold, schematic style characteristic of hammered wire money of this period. The irregular flan, produced by cutting a silver wire blank, results in an elongated oval planchet with uneven edges. The Cyrillic date inscription ҂АΨS (1706) appears in the lower field beneath the horse.
