Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription filling the entire field of the irregular flan, reading ЦРЬ ПЕТР АЛЕКСЕЕВИЧ (Tsar Peter Alexeyevich), arranged in three lines in the characteristic style of Russian wire money of the period. The bold, slightly archaic Cyrillic letterforms are deeply struck and well-defined relative to the flan size. The legend identifies the ruler by title and patronymic without the use of a portrait or heraldic device. The flan edges are ragged and uneven, consistent with the wire-cut hammered production method employed at Russian mints of the early eighteenth century.
