Obverse description Tsar on horseback facing right, depicted as a mounted warrior or sovereign in traditional Muscovite style, holding a spear or lance pointed downward toward a serpent or prostrate figure beneath the horse's hooves. The equestrian effigy is rendered in the archaic wire-money tradition, with bold but stylized relief typical of late hammered Russian coinage. A partial Cyrillic legend surrounds the design, running along the irregular flan edge. The overall composition follows the long-established 'Rider' (Всадник) type used on Russian wire kopecks since the sixteenth century.
