| Obverse description | Equestrian effigy of the Tsar depicted as a mounted lancer, galloping to the right, with a spear couched in the right hand in the traditional style of the Moscow wire kopeck. The horse is shown in full stride, rendered in the archaic flat pictorial style characteristic of early Petrine coinage. Cyrillic date letters appear beneath the hooves of the horse in the lower field. The flan is of irregular shape, typical of the hand-cut wire-money production method. |
